Dave Manzer

President and Partner

Dave founded Swyft in 2010 as a way to combine his creative storytelling skills  and love of disruptive tech companies into one business. As a marketing communications professional, Dave has helped build out marketing and PR strategies for B2B tech companies for over 12 years. His expertise in brand strategy and lead generation has helped many companies see rapid growth in website traffic, brand awareness and marketing qualified leads. Thanks to his deep media connections and creative insight, he has earned his clients valuable exposure in the Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, Money, Forbes, Huffington Post, USA Today and other well-known news outlets. When not toiling away for clients, you might find Dave hitting the trails on his mountain bike or brushing up on his French during trips to Paris visiting family, friends and his favorite bistros.

Jo Detavernier

Vice-President and Partner, SCMP, APR

Jo Detavernier has 15+ years of communications experience. He started his consultancy career in top-tier consultancy agencies in the Brussels market and has been a Partner and VP in Swyft since 2015. Jo holds degrees in criminal justice, marketing and management. He has counseled over the years a host of B2B and B2C companies with among them Boston Consulting Group, Viacom, Pfizer, SWIFT and Unilever. His competencies include public relations, corporate communications, content marketing, issues and crisis communications, C-suite executive training and measurement. Jo is both APR and SCMP accredited. He is also a Member of the Global Communication Certification Council that manages the IABC certification program. A Belgian by birth, Jo tends to obsesses about the Belgian national soccer team and is still searching for American made chocolade that meets his standards. Jo is fluent in English, Dutch and French.

Julia Angelen Joy

 Account Director

Julia Angelen Joy is an “international steward of creativity” with extensive experience in public relations, community engagement, fundraising, and marketing. Jules, as her friends call her, grew up in Oregon, where her fondest childhood memories are of climbing gorgeous, towering trees, picking fresh summer berries, and playing along the Oregon coast. With 20 years of experience, two marketing degrees, and an MBA, Jules can solve Engagement & PR issues faster than you can say, “Super PR Lady!” Julia resides in Boise with her four children and two tiny dogs. She loves chocolate, wine, and yoga.

Sanah Sadaruddin

Senior Account Manager

Specializing in media strategy both on and offline, Sanah provides day-to-day assistance and counsel for campaigns centered around innovation. Sanah’s experience focuses on finding the right technology story for companies including Shell, Texas Medical Center, ClearDATA and National Instruments working at leading PR firms and boutique agencies combined for nine years.
 
Previously, Sanah was at Edelman creating strategic, integrated campaigns including the development of the signature program, Shell Eco-marathon Americas, tasked to raise national awareness in an evolving communications landscape by leveraging social media and media who are social. Prior to joining Edelman, Sanah supported brand marketing initiatives for AT&T and Citibank during Occupy Wall Street at Fleishman-Hillard in New York overseeing national product launches and social purpose campaigns. Currently enrolled at Rice University studying fictional storytelling, Sanah holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Texas at Austin with a certificate in global business foundations, traveling to 8 countries in one summer to learn differences in communications and cultures through Semester at Sea. Fluent in Urdu and AP style, Sanah is the founder and blogger of Beauty and the Pitch and currently writing her first novel.

Suzie Tawney

Suzie Tawney is an experienced marketing professional well-versed in the tech industry serving verticals in fintech, security services, and more. She has an innate love for digital marketing and has used this passion as fuel to grow her skill-sets on an ongoing basis. Her bag of tricks includes inbound marketing, web design, social media, graphic design, and creative writing. When Suzie is not in front of a computer screen teaching herself new skills, you can find her in the great outdoors, or enjoying the abundance of craft beer, fine food, and musical delights that Austin has to offer.

Sarah Pendley

Senior Account Manager

With storytelling at the forefront, Sarah Pendley successfully promotes organizations in a thought-provoking, creative and tactical manner. Sarah has over a decade of media relations and marketing experience for an array of industries and high-profile clients that include Domino’s, Starbucks, and Target. Equipped with compelling stories and unique marketing strategies, Sarah secured Tier 1 placement in Fortune, CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times.  In addition to earned media outreach, she produced corporate videos to boost both internal and external audience engagement. As an avid writer, Sarah freelanced for a variety of publications that include Forbes and Houstonia Magazine. Her passion for business and tech flows through every article she drafts. In her free time, Sarah explores New York City’s eclectic food and art scene, documenting her colorful journey via social media.

Orlando Villarreal

Director Of Web and Application Development

Guided by his passion for clean code and strategic design, Orlando Villarreal has over a decade of consulting experience in marketing, website creation, and app development. His background is rooted in creating responsive WordPress design and web apps with Salesforce integrations that catapult businesses to unprecedented growth. A relentless problem solver, Orlando is well-versed in Javascript, PHP, SQL and Swift and is ready to dive into a pool of messy code to clean up issues at a moment’s notice. In addition to masterminding web architecture, he seamlessly integrates sites with e-commerce platforms such as Woocommerce and Shopify. When Orlando isn’t building striking websites, you can find him volunteering with the Merivis Foundation, teaching students at the Austin Coding Academy, or networking with fellow front-end designers at Salesforce Saturdays.

Jack Craver

Senior Copywriter

Jack is an expert at communicating a brand’s message through crisp, attention-grabbing prose. His knack for storytelling is shaped by more than a decade of experience as both a journalist and copywriter. His writing has appeared in the Atlantic, the Texas Observer, Austin Monthly, the Austin Chronicle and the Madison Capital Times, among many other publications. In his free time he rides his bike around Austin and writes on his blog, AustinPolitics.net, about city government. He is a fluent French speaker.

Drawing on his diverse experience in advertising, technology, and finance, Dave brings a well-rounded and distinct marketing perspective to the Swyft team. From the trenches of thriving startups to consulting high-profile clients such as Kellogg’s and Pfizer, Dave is deeply committed to building and maintaining client relationships of all calibers. As the sales lead, Dave oversees campaigns aimed at helping B2B software companies establish marcom initiatives and accelerate their growth. With an ROI-focused mindset, Dave supports content creation intended to increase visibility and attract high-quality B2B leads for clients. Originally from the chilly Midwest, he now enjoys the warm, vibrant Austin culture and of course all of the delicious tacos, brisket, and craft beer brewed under the Texas sun.

Cristina Salinas

Director of Analyst Relations

Cristina is an experienced communicator who delivers successful awareness programs for US and international businesses. She joins the team bringing more than 20 years of expertise with media relations, industry analyst relations, content development and customer reference programs. Cristina has worked in the technology industry creating and executing integrated campaigns targeting a diverse set of vertical markets including security, retail, financial, storage, cloud and healthcare. Dedicated to delivering results, Cristina dives in to get a firm understanding of technology differentiators in order to craft solid content strategies to reach influencers.

She has worked with leading PR agencies throughout her career and has held inside sales and marketing positions. Her teams have secured industry recognition for outstanding achievements in communications.Cristina holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Edward’s University. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering in the community and spending time with her family.
